UPS Worldship sucks my balls
It's the program I use to ship things from work. It sucks. I'm going to list the reasons why it sucks, but you probably won't care. This is mostly venting and is definitely TL;DR
- It updates itself twice a week, but is still buggy.
- It notifies me that there's an update and asks if I want to exit the program to install it. When I say 'Yes' it then proceeds to ask me again if I want to exit the program. Why? I don't know. Every change made is saved in the database instantly, so it's not like quitting the app is destructive or dangerous.
- When I start the program up and it loads the updates, it asks me twice if I want to proceed. At this point, I don't have a choice, because not proceeding would just close the program. Why ask and why be so redundant?
- After it installs the update, it quits. If you have more than one update to install (common) then you have to go through the process again when you open it. Today I had three updates to install.
- When creating a return label, you can't combine Return Service with Quantum View Notify. I know this already. I turn off the Quantum options before turning on the Return Services options. It still pops up a warning dialog saying "Return Services can not be combined with Quantum View Notify. Would you like to disable these options?" even if they're already disabled. But if they aren't disabled, that screen pops up three times.
- Declared value. If I enter a declared value, but then change the shipping method after that, it removes the declared value. It did this to me once on a package that was valued at $600. Guess what? Some asshole at UPS just happened to lose that package. We only got $100 back.
- It's a windows hog. For no apparent reason, it will switch itself to the active window. It doesn't matter if you're in the middle of typing something in another window, it'll just switch on you.
- It takes forever to load
- Sometimes, in the middle of printing a label, it freaks out and thinks that you're trying to void the shipment. It then asks if you'd like to void the shipment... after the label is printed.
