I just called this one Dr. that I have seen before. He says that he can not tell me how much it will be. What the fuck. I am trying to be an informed consumer here.

the ENT said it would be considered a cosmetic fix, since it's not causing significant enough breathing problems.
i'll get mine fixed one day... maybe when my nose totally collapses.

I think that it may help breathing while riding a bike.
Oh, I got back on my bike yesterday. It was very scary. I kept invisioning Miri's head being run over by a car. But, it felt great riding again. I think I need a new helmet. It is about time.

[quote/] it's easier to breathe through your mouth when you're riding hard. getting my septum fixed would probably stop the crusty, bloody, boogery discharge that's shaped like what's left of my cartilage and shoots out like a missile when i blow my nose every 5 minutes... The surgery alone is around $3000. That's not counting hospital and anesthesia. It's usually covered if they code it the right way. Sometimes insurance will require proof that you need the surgery....like clinical information about your past history (sinus infections, breathing issues, snoring). As long as they don't code it as rhinoplasty. That's the medical term for "nose job". Recovery is about a week and a half. The first few days are hell....but it all depends on your pain tolerance.
